It’s that time again! Now through August 22, 2010 vote for the Jersey Animal Coalition at www.theanimalrescuesite.com and the shelter could win to help pets in need. The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a special challenge for eligible Petfinder.com member shelter and rescue groups, such as the Jersey Animal Coalition. The grand prize is a $10,000 grant, and they will be awarding many other grants to rescue groups with the most votes — a total of $100,000 in grants for animal welfare organizations.

The Jersey Animal Coalition provides shelter, medical care and adoption services for abandoned pets. One of the few no-kill shelters in the state of New Jersey -- Jersey Animal Coalition relies solely on donations, adoption fees and fundraising to continue its work.
The economic downturn is having a significant impact on many individuals, families and their pets. In 20 years of saving thousands of animals’ lives, the Jersey Animal Coalition is experiencing a significant increase in the number of dogs and cats surrendered to the shelter due to financial hardship. Providing shelter, food, love and medical for so many animals is taking a heavy toll on limited resources.
