The Maplewood Market is back in business after passing its health inspection and getting its license application approved Jan. 25.
The Springfield Avenue grocery store had been closed since Dec. 22 amid a protracted battle between the township and the store owner, Aiman Abujudeh.
The store had been cited for health code and other violations. But on Jan. 25, Maplewood health officer Robert D. Roe said the store passed inspection. The license application was approved as well.
“We told him that he could open,” Roe said.
