located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has several events slated for
June 2011. All are invited to take part in one or more of the studio’s
events. Events are geared toward adults, families and children and include the
following:
Father's Day Daddy & Me Art Workshop
Saturday, June 18
Celebrate Father’s Day with your child at Express Yourself Studios. Children
(ages 2-10) will create a special pottery project with Dad for Dad. All
materials, plus pizza & beverages provided.
Saturday, June 18, 11:00am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm (you choose your
time).
Workshop Fee: $25 for Dad/child ($10 each additional
sibling). To enroll in this workshop please register 2-3 days prior.
Cocktails & Canvas Workshops
Every 1st and 3rd Thursday
June 16
Join Express Yourself Studios for Cocktails & Canvas. Bring your bottle of wine (or favorite
beverage) and explore your creative side and have a night out with friends! No
experience necessary...the main objective is to have fun! Leave with a finished masterpiece!!
Cocktails & Canvas is great for group workshops or private parties; great for
"Girls’ Night Out,” Bachelorette parties and “Date Night.”. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday, 7:00-9:00pm, $25
per person (adults only), supplies & treats provided.

Coffee & Canvas Workshops

Join Express Yourself Studios for Coffee & Canvas. Bring your coffee (or favorite beverage) and
explore your creative side and enjoy a morning of creativity. No experience
necessary...the main objective is to have fun!
Leave with a finished masterpiece!!

Crafty Toddlers

Express Yourself Studios is now offering a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
morning (10am-11am) class for toddlers!
Children ages 2-4 are invited to play with paint! Pinch and pound clay! Collage with glue and explore different art
materials. A different project each week. Moms, Dads or Caregivers can participate too!
Crafty Toddlers is $15 per child. All materials included. To register your youngster for

Pizza & Pottery
Every 4th Thursday

Join Express Yourself Studios every 4th Thursday of the month for Pizza &
Pottery (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm) Children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun
pottery project creating a functional piece of artwork. Hand building
techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture will be covered. All supplies, pizza and beverages
included. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.

ArT4ReAL Teen Art Workshop

Express Yourself Studios offers a new teen art workshop called ArT4ReAL. ArT4ReAL takes place every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Teens are invited to take part in a guided
art project; enjoy music, pizza and beverages while they express themselves creatively on canvas.
Projects include painting, mixed media and graffiti art (a different art project each
session). All materials, pizza & beverages included. The workshop fee is $20 per person.
No experience necessary...the main objective is to have fun! Everyone leaves with their very own finished

Media Mix Workshop
Every Wednesday
Express Yourself Studios offers a Media Mix workshop Wednesday evenings 4:30pm -
5:30pm. This engaging and dynamic
program is perfect for the child age 5-8 who wants to learn many art
techniques, while creating diverse and imaginative projects.
Each student will create different, unique and individualized art pieces through a
variety of themes and subject matter. Projects will include drawing, painting,
collage, sculpture, clay and numerous mixed media-based concepts, using an
array of fun and tactile materials and techniques suited to each age group.
Students will also be introduced to various techniques and artists from art history.
Sculpture
Every Friday
Express Yourself Studios offers a sculpture workshop Friday evenings 4:30pm -
5:30pm. This program is perfect for the
child ages 7-12.
Come and enjoy the highly tactile medium of clay! In this hands-on studio program,
young artists will develop and refine a variety of hand-building techniques:
pinching, coiling, slab construction and modeling.
Drawing & Painting
Every Tuesday
Express Yourself Studios offers a Drawing & Painting workshop Tuesday evenings 4:30pm - 5:30pm for children ages 8-12.
Young artists will develop their artistic skills while having fun discovering their own personal style. Working from still life, photographs, images from art history and/or independent themes and ideas, students will be introduced to specific drawing and painting fundamentals and techniques. These include line drawing, value, shape, pattern, texture, shading and highlighting. While experimenting with a variety tools, media and techniques.

Summer Art Camp Enrollment
June 27- August 26
Express Yourself Studios has begun its Summer Art Camp 2011 enrollment. The Summer Art program is open to children ages 5-12. Children will experiment with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will be encouraged to use their imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists. The Summer Workshop runs June 27 – August 26. The registration deadline is June 25.
Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects per week. The projects will be inspired by a different Master Artist. The 2011 9-week schedule includes the following artists: Alexander Calder, Pablo Picasso, Wassily
Kandinsky, Georgia O'Keeffe, Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Jean Michel Basquiat.
Children will learn about the Artists through discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. An exhibition and reception featuring students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

ExpressYourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in arts and crafts.
