MAPLEWOOD, NJ, September 9, 2010 - Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood has several events slated for September. All are invited to take part in one or more of the studio’s events. Events are geared toward adults, families and children and include the following:

Crafty Toddlers

Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is now offering a Thursday and Saturday morning (10am-11am) class for toddlers! Children ages 2-4 are invited to play with paint! Pinch and pound clay! Collage with glue and explore different art materials. A different project each week. Moms, Dads or Caregivers can participate too!

Cocktails & Canvas Workshops at Express Yourself Studios (Adults)

Bring your bottle of wine (or favorite beverage) and explore your creative side and have a night out with friends! No experience necessary...the main objective is to have fun! Leave with a finished masterpiece!! Individual workshops or private parties; great for "Girls’ Night Out,” Bachelorette parties and “Date Night.”.

Pizza & Pottery at Express Yourself Studios (Ages 5-12)

Every 4^th Thursday

Join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ every 4th Thursday of the month for Pizza & Pottery (6:00pm – 8:00pm) Children ages 5-12 will participate in a fun pottery project creating a functional piece of artwork. Hand building techniques such as slab, pinch, and sculpture will be covered. All supplies, pizza and beverages include. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.

Cartoon Workshop

September 24

Children age 7-12 join Express Yourself Studios located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood, NJ for a two-hour cartoon workshop (6:00pm - 8:00pm). Participants will create a comic strip featuring a superhero/heroin of their own concept. Looking at examples from current cartoons such as Batman, Spiderman, Ben 10, Pokémon, Bakugan, Sponge Bob, Looney Tunes, and more, children will learn the fundamentals of cartooning and graphic story-telling, along with its earliest beginnings and influence upon the art world at large. Pizza will be included and the budding cartoonist will leave with a four-panel comic strip to bring home at the end of the workshop. $20 per person. Reserve your space today.

Studio Saturdays at Express Yourself Studios (Ages 5-10)

Join Express Yourself Studios, located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood every Saturday from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm for Studio Saturdays. Come and participate in a guided art project, a new project each week exploring a different art master and medium. Studio Saturdays are open to children ages 5-12, $15 per child. Fall Art Class Enrollment

September 1 - 30

Express Yourself Studios, A Space to Create located at 1912 Springfield Avenue in Maplewood is currently accepting enrollment for its Fall art classes (October - December). Classes are available for adults and children (ages 2-12) and are offered in 6 week sessions. All materials are included, and there is a wide variety of classes to choose from. Kid’s classes include: Crafty Toddlers, Media Mix, Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Cartoon Workshop. Adult/Teen classes include Acrylics, Watercolor and Pastel Workshops. The Fall Session begins week of October 11. The registration deadline is September 30.

Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express themselves creatively via classes in arts and crafts. As well as a space where artist are welcome to display their work and create utilizing the studio’s space, tools and tables.
