HK Community Fund may acquire Woman's Club building

A local organization is in the midst of trying to acquire the Woman’s Club property on Woodland Road, a club representative said Feb. 25.
“We’re more than half way there,” club President Jo Ann Aponte said of talks with HK Community Fund, a program that joins the neighbors of Maplewood and South Orange in meeting its educational, community and cultural needs.
Tom Kerns, a former Wall Street businessman who started the nonprofit, did not return phone calls seeking comment.
Aponte would not discuss sales price. “We can’t say,” she said.
She said a contract has not been signed.

This was the initial information given to us from a club leader, which is attributed in the article and is a credible source. Will be updating this article with the one we put in the print edition this week, which does clarify the situation.

Thanks

This is inaccurate.  The HK Community Fund is not acquiring the Woman's Club building.  Please adjust accordingly.
