About Us

The South Mountain YMCA, located along the South Orange-Maplewood town line, spans an entire town block and includes a child care center, program center and gymnasium. Programs are diverse and numerous in the following areas: child care, before and after school child care, youth and adult sports and fitness, youth enrichment as well as teen and youth leadership.

Summer months offer a unique opportunity for children at the South Mountain YMCA to enroll in one of our many day camps. Day camps are available for children 3 years old through 10th grade and provide a wide variety of fun activities for children to participate in.

SoMapY, YKnots 1 & 2 and all 3 Drama Camps are accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the State of New Jersey.

The South Mountain YMCA’s Child Care Centers strive to address every child's developmental needs in a safe, fun and nurturing environment. Our state certified teachers and experienced assistants plan creative and motivating activities that instill a love of learning in each child.
