The Columbia High School girls’ varsity basketball team’s bid to win a third consecutive New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 tournament title was denied.

The Columbia High School varsity wrestling team, which finished with a 12-9 mark, was sparked by a slew of standouts this season.
Heavyweight James Goode enjoyed a strong season for the Cougars. Goode, a senior, went 24-8, which included a 12-1 mark in the Super Essex Conference and a 7-0 record in the SEC-Liberty Division.
Goode was second at the Rahway Holiday tournament, fifth at the Essex County Tournament, first at the District 10 tournament and a Region 3 quarterfinalist.

The Columbia High School boys’ varsity basketball team lost to a strong Plainfield team, 60-41, in the quarterfinals of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association North Jersey Section 2, Group 4 tournament on March 4 in Plainfield.
