An Evening with Page Dickey: Gardens in the Spirit of Place at Burgdorf Center for the Performing Arts
October 22, 2009 from 7pm to 8:30pm
Greenwood Gardens is pleased to present an evening with garden writer, Page Dickey. Her many books include Inside Out: Relating Garden to House, Dogs in Their Gardens, and Cats in Their Gardens, as well as the award-winning Breaking Ground. She lectures widely and is a contributor to House & Garden and House Beautiful magazines.Based on her most recent book entitled Gardens in the Spirit of Place, Ms. Dickey will discuss the creation of a garden that is in sympathy with its particular setting. Gardens in the Spirit of Place will take us on an insider's tour of some of the most beautiful examples of "reflective gardens" that celebrate their regional origins. She will show us private gardens around America that are formed as much by their environments as by their creators, emphasizing a sensitivity to the ecology, climate, culture, and history of the place where they are located. Book signing to follow. $20 per person. To register or for more information about Greenwood Gardens programs, please call 973.258.4026 or email mgundy@greenwoodgardens.org.See More
